I'm looking to score on a javelina. Was hoping someone on here would know of a place close to north central or east Tx area.

Hey Bud,

There are not many in North Central or E.Tx. The closest you may find them is around Luling or San Antonio and west or south. Sabinal, Tx and Hondo are from what Ihave seen the best places to find them. South Tx has a shitpot load also.

The Texas shoot out is back on for next year. Not sure what ranch they are going to use yet. It will never be the same as it was.

This was one going on since the late 80's early 90's. It became too big...

Check with the outfitters around Albany to Breckenridge. I know there were several outfitters up there back some years ago that brought them in to give their hunters something else to shoot at. Thats the closest place to you I know of that has them.

If all else fails I can probably hook you up with a hunt in sotx.

Only Texas Shootout im aware of was on the Callaghan Ranch. Fun times, but it got so big in its last years that it wasnt much fun anymore. Sure got sloppy down there when it rained.

a lot of peaple here might argue but in my opinion, if your gonna go somwhere specifically for javalina, Mexico is the only way to go if you can swing it. And there is no limit there!

Outdoor writer Luke Clayton here. Ijust finished an article on javelina hunting in KNOX county at Ranger Creek Ranch., only a couple hours from Ft.Worth. LOTS of javelina there and the season runs through the 28th of this month. I am planning on a return trip there next week. Should be no problem taking one with a bow. Good Luck www.rangercreekranch.com (http://www.rangercreekranch.com) contact Ranell.

See plenty of Javelina at "Rancho Sueno Mio" in Mathis TX, but check out some of the public lands for Javelina hunts!!!
