I've had a long, dry spell. My mom has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and has moved in with us. My family moved to a new home. yada yada yada has kept me out of the woods.

Yesterday evening, I got a nice sow. I actually thought she was a boar when I pulled the trigger because she was in grass which ruined the profile - duh huh. Iwill try to post a picture tomorrow.

Man, it feels good to be succesful again!

Sorry it took me so long to get the photo on. Very busy.

A yellow fly bit my nose and it was very swollen.

Not bad for a sow, huh?

that is a very big sow, did you weigh her?

See why I thought she was a boar - especially standing in grass?

No, I didn't weigh her. My guess is less than 200. Maybe 175. I weigh a lot of live hogs as an agriculture teacher. :)

Good job on breaking the dry spell. I know how you felt. Iam still needing to whack a hog. The dang things seemed to disapear as soon as the rain hit.

You know. Taking a hog or deer is often a let down. The anticipation and work is often the fun of it all. However, taking an animal is great validation of your efforts as well.

My first martial arts teacher said that earning your black belt is about the journey, not the belt. He said that when I earned my black belt there would be no music from heaven; he would throw it on the floor and kick it to me. hahaha. I am a 5th degree now and done a lot more neat stuff . . . I guess I'm still on that journey too.
