I haven't shot to many coons from my feeders in the past because I was scared it would mess up the huntin spot for a short while, but with the price of corn now days I think you've got the right idea.

I agree. I don't even mind a few coons hanging out as when they split, it's a heads up that hogs are usually coming in. But every few months, when the're are 8 or so coons at the feeder, damage control is a must. I usually wait until the evenings hunt is over anyway to start blasting away...Shoot one, wait 15 min., they come back, shoot another one, wiat 15 in., they come back, etc.
