Anybody that wants a Texas Lifetime hunting license has about a month, before the price almost doubles! eg. The cost for a lifetime hunting and fishing license (equivalent to our Super Combo) will go from the current $1000 to $1800 on August 15. The Super combo will go to $68....at that rate a $1000 lifetime license would break-even at 15 years....but at $1800, it would take 26 years.

Other licenses, along with boat registration/titling fees, are also going up. Read about them at :

Based on what I read, it looks like the new rates go into effect on August 15....the day 2010 licenses go on sale. Several of my buddies are buying lifetime licenses for their small children.....I would've been dollars ahead if I had bought one years before I did!

Iwas going to buy one last yr, but figured, Iwouldn't be around to break even. LMAO!!!!! My son, on the other hand, would greatly benefit from it. Thanks for the heads up Clark........

Funny the feds want to take our guns away, so the state wants to charge us more to hunt with sticks then guns.....

The lifetime covers all of them rj, including archery and guns just as the super combo has, so not sure what your point was?

Yep...that's one of the nice things about a Lifetime combination license....all State stamps are included and if they come up with any new State stamps (like a wild Boar Stamp), they will be covered as well. Too bad the Federal stamps aren't included.

They (Texas doves) are the big one's with the ring around their neck.

Never seen one. The only ones Ihave ever killed have been mornings and whitewings. Saw some ring necked ones overseas, but highly doubt they were from Tx. LOL Thanks Jed.....

That's what I was refering to, the ringneck or Eurasian collared doves. They are not native to Texas, and are considered a exotic, no license needed, no closed season, and no bag limit. IMO they should be the new state bird.lol

sorry took a while for me to respond but, my point is the it is a sign of the times. the government is trying to strip (or restrict) our right to bare arms. if successful all well have left is archery, and the license cost almost twice as much. pay more get less.
