we got this is boar a while back. we ended up with a 150# sow, 2 shoats, and this boar. he weighed 225# and had pretty good teeth. my strike dog & running catch dog caught the sow while the other 3 dogs and my wife and i got the shoats. my wife's blue lacy found and bayed the boar in a creek.

he got up under the cut collar on my gyp and did some cutting. we cleaned her up and stapled the wound. after a 2 week rest, she was ready to go again. he aslo cut my pit on the leg, but that wasn't too bad.

the hogs in the grain fields tended to be long runners, but the hogs caught in the woods or creek bottoms tend not to run but a short distance, then they stand and fight.
