Just pulled game camera pics yesterday and got a Havi surprise. The ranch owner said he has not seen one in over 10 years. They showed several different days over the last three weeks but none in the last 3 days. Ihope they stick around because I've never shot one. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_FfQpv-he09Y/SpAbkF22GnI/AAAAAAAAAsk/T8uIbDW86eM/s800/3+havi+(Medium).JPG

Javi can be called in too! You might want to try that as well!

What do you use to call them in? My guess would be a varmit call like a dying rabbit.

I think it's been over a 100 every day since the first of June. I heard some town close to the ranch set a record with 84 straight days over 100.

They sell a javvy in distress call at academy. Works GREAT right after you break a group up. They will go crazy over that thing about 80% of the time from my experience... All I can say is have your weapon of choice READY.

What county are those pics from?

my buddy shot one at our place in Llano this summer. Needless to say, we were all very surprised!!! Hill Country javi, what????

We had the same problem with the Javelinas at both of our hunt locations, they just showed all of sudden one day and were consistently coming to the feeders, once we started putting some lead in the tails, they disapeared. If you shoot a female or a young one I hear they can be good to eat if the meat is properly cared for. When my son shot his Javelina the ranch owner quickly claimed it stating he prefers to eat Javelina before deer and hog if it's a young female. He likes to make them into jerky also!!!
