In my oponion the cheapest and easiet way to build a hog trap would be with hog paneling and T- post in a circular pattern, if you want to get fancy you can put a drop door on it or just use the hog paneling as the door.

Like GG said the circle or "figure 6" is the cheapestwww.texashoghunter.com/forum.php (http://www.texashoghunter.com/forum.php?c=topic&op=index&cid=12&tid=2238)

Try the tear drop circle trap with a root gate. if you get the hog pannels now you get out for under a 80 bucks

I wonder if it has to do with the server change?

Sorry about the problems....Try it again....some of the files didn't make it over to the new server.

I called Neill and it looks like he accessed his old server and moved the files over ! Thanks Neill !

Looks like about 27 t-posts in the pic...they are close to $4 each at TSC...27 X $4 = +/- $108 for t-posts. 16 foot feedlot panels at TSC are $20 each. 4-5 panels at $20 = ~$80-$100. About $200 for this type of trap. That about right Kevin? Is that cheap enough Hogman96?

That's about the easiest trap I've seen. I haven't ever used one but a lot of people swear by them.

Do you have access to a welding machine? By the time you buy all of the material to weld a box trap together, you'll be at about the same cost as the circle trap...maybe a little less. It would be quicker and easier to move than a circle trap would be, if you have the equipment and skills.

You can also wedge a stick between the "door" panel and the "wall" of the trap...run a trip wire through there and it will serve as a regular "trip wire" type trap as well. I have never had luck with the ttpe of trap where the hogs push the door open to get in...these pigs up here just ain't that hungry.

Thats what we have been doing..I put a t-post on the inside of the trap to wire the door open for a few weeks..then use a stick with electric fencing wire. Run it around the t-post that I use to wire it open then on the outside of the trap to the back then cut across the trap so they can hit it. Like Shane said about 200 bucks for the trap & it can be a long term trap or you can move it to other places.
