Today I went to a local pawn shop (Lakeview Pawnshop in The Colony,Tx) to get FFL info to order a new rifle online. While there I spotted a rack of used rifles and asked about any 30-06s. They had some and I wound up buying a nice Savage 110 in 30-06. It's probably a older model since it doesn't have a Accu trigger. The trigger is light and crisp though. It has a Bushnell Banner 4X12 scope and the wood work is perfect. The rifling looks good from what I could see. There is a minor amount of pitting on the outside of the end of the barrel. I bought it for $350.00 OTD. They threw in a case and sling. I think I did all right. That's about half what I expected to spend for a good hog/whitetail rig. I'll be sighting it in sometime next week. Can't wait!!!

I was always told by a guy that was very wise. If your happy and the dealer is happy you got a good deal no matter what the price.

Thank's guys. If it shoots as good as it looks I will love it. Some say the Savage is ugly but I think it's kinda purty! Today I'm having my cousin, who knows guns much better than I do, adjust the scope. He has one of those Bushnell gizmos that you attach to the end of the barrel to line up the cross hairs. Monday I will sight it in at a local range and Wednesday I will beoff toWest Texas (Around Aspermont) for a three day hog hunt. I don't know the history of this rifle but I hope to bring my 1st blood with it then.
