Hey, I love wild hog hunting as much as the next guy but tags? Well, what can you expect from San Diego? I know this, in a few years they won't give a #^$* about pig tags. They will be beggin folks to kill them.

Yep, California has had pig tags for a long time. When I first hunted pigs in the early 90's it was around $6.95 for a book of 5 tags and when I last hunted them in 2006 it was around $18.00 for 1 tag. The pig population has been fairly stable over that time.

I could understand using pig tags if that money generated would go pack into funding for public land hunting or pig research to promote hunting opportunities or something beneficial to hunters or landowners.

The buracrats allways manage to absorb most of the money taken in when something is charged to us hunters. Besides who wants to wonder whether or not your hog tag is up todate.I just want to bust them as I want to.Chuck

A well-placed .308 is the only thing I want to "tag" a hog with.....and as far as hog "season" goes, I don't know about ya'll but I like salt and pepper, maybe a little Tony Chachere's.....

Ilived there when the state brought in the tag system. The only thing Ithought was they wanted to get thier dirty little fingers in our pockets. They saw what they could make off of us hunters by adding hogs to the game list and ran with it. Dam left coasters..................

Really? A sow can produce three liters a year or about sixty baby's from what I hear. That's a lot of new hogs rooting and destroying.

This is why tags are important. DFG needs to know what’s happening out there so they can impose the correct regulations. I trust that.



What's important to the state of Kalifornia is mining every penny they can out of it's citizens.......so they "can know what's happening out there".
