Golf course managers along the Costa del Sol complain of increasing damage being caused to their greens and fairways by wild boar. Ploys to scare the unwanted visitors off, ranging from playing music at night to spreading human hair around the course boundaries have all failed. “They’re very clever and it’s not easy to fool them”, said Carlos Pitarch of Lauro Golf. In the heat the boar are attracted to the courses’ lakes to drink and find the soft greens irresistible for rooting with their snouts as they go.
