Howdy To All,



Does anybody know if a feral hog's tusk are really considered ivory or is that a myth? Always heard they were but not for sure.

From the American Heritage Dictionary:



a.A hard, smooth, yellowish-white substance composed primarily of dentin that forms the tusks of the elephant.



b.A similar substance forming the tusks or teeth of certain other mammals, such as the walrus.



A hog's cutters, whetters, and other teth as well would qualify as ivory. TEchnically I guess, all teeth, including human, can be considered ivory as they are composed of dentin.
