I have had this hog coming in to my feeder every night for the last week. he has been coming in at 8:30 and 10:30 pm regular as clock work. I had a perfect wind so I headed out with my dog Bo to see if we could stick him last night. We got in the stand just a couple minutes before 8:00 and I closed the door. I had my bow hanging on the hanger with the sling still on. I opened the window facing the feeder and sat down. I looked toward the feeder and here he came working his way straight toward me. Now keep in mind my bow still had the sling on it and no arrow nocked. I worked as fast as I could in slow motion if that makes sense to get the sling off and an arrow out of the quiver. I had to freeze just as I got the arrow out until he went back to eating. I got the arrow nocked and eased my bow off the hanger. The hog was facing straight at me. He finally turned quartering toward me and I came to full draw. I held at full draw for 3 minutes til he finally turned to my left and was broadside at 15 yards. I had my anchor point solid, my sight housing was centered in my peep and my 15 yard pin was on the 10 ring. I let the nuclear meat missile fly and watched it bury up to the wrap in his shoulder. I have found my broadhead for shooting big hogs. That muzzy phantom 4 blade head left a blood trail that looked like you had poured it out of a bucket as you walked. Any way The hog turned to run and I could see arrow sticking out both sides of him. The farther he ran the lower he got. just as he disappeared in the brush I heard him crash or at least I thought I did. My feeder is set to go off at 8:00 pm and it went of just as I shot the hog. I sat there for a little while then grabbed Bo's leash and headed for the spot I had last seen the hog. The blood trail started 5 yards from where I shot him. Bo hit the blood and stayed with it all the way to the hog. He never got in a hurry but he sure did work hard for all 25 yards he had to trail. He never looked up but kept his nose on the ground until we walked up to the hog.
