I can vouch for that. I've been on my hands and knees at11 p.m. tracking blood trails through some pretty thick stuff with Nate. Iused him as my shield.

I'm guessing a 50/50 split. I think night would be more productive if I had the chance to hunt it more.
I'd say 95+% of my kills are at night. Idon't even have feeders set to go off until it's dark.
Lately 5 out of the last 6 we have killed since late March have been an hour or two after dark.
SirVival wrote... For those who hunt day and night, what has been your ratio of 'day-kill' hogs vs. 'night-kill' hogs? I think mine to date isabout 30% day , 70% night... When it's warm out that's about my ratio but more like 50/50 when it's chili. It's just as much bustin em night to me!
I'd say my day to night ratio for 2009 was 30% day and 70% at night. I did alot more night hog hunting this last year than in years past. Almost all that where killed after dark where within 2 to 2 1/2 hours of sunset.
How many hogs do ypu kill a year. Chuck
In years past maybe 5 a year, but this last year I moved back to my home town and I got alot more hunting in. Last year (2009) I'd say I killed 20 and another 10-12 were killed by friends I brought along to my places. I plan to shot even more this year. I'm going to keep a record for the 2010 year of all hogs I take and my success ratio.
2009 - 70% night kills, back in 2005 70% of kills were durin day hours. lookin over records and pictures it seems the hogs have been coming increasingly nocturnal. but i didn't have the toys to hunt at night back then as i have now
I have hunted more during the day and great success but when I go out at night........I get on the big boys!!
