    HOGS AND DROUGHT

    Whats yall opinion. Are they more active or not. do they tend to stay near water. what are there behavior pattern in the heat...?

    I would say that they have find areas that at least have water and mud to cool themselves during the day like creek bottums or low lying areas with lots of shade during the day. From what I have seen in the summer drought months, hogs will just go nocturnal, especially the older wiser pigs that know how to survive periods of drought. This would make for some interesting research because I believe even their feeding patterns would change much like deer do when food source is drying up

    hogs will move to where the water is, they seem to bunch up more in drought conditions.. i think they become more active at night during the heat,------ i like to find a pond or creek with wallows and set up on them..hogs are comin to ponds around 10;00 p.m right now, as the sunner goes on they will get as late as midnight.. then they are out of the fields by 5:30am
