Man you got some really big ones out there! Does look like it has some interesting bloodlines w/ that raised hair. Any Russians or Razor backs out there? What do you think it weighed? I am surprised it didn't have bigger cutters. I put my red sniper light on a big black one this past weekend & it spooked. Only the 2nd time I have had that happen. I guess he got to be that big for a reason.

It sunny, about every other hog I see out here has a big mane if they are mature. The tallest hackle I ever saw though was on a little 100# skinny, long-legged sow. She was relatively tiny to the boars, but her mane Iswear had to be at least 6 inches tall. It looked REALLY freaky! I don't weigh the hogs anymore, I'm guessing though he was in the 200# range. What I do when using the Destroyer is I'll point my gun upwards, secure the butt of the rifle against my shoulder, find my correct cheek position and eye relief, then turn the light on. Slowly, bring the gun down n the direction of the hog until you can see his eye reflection, then ....IT'S ON!!!! Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice. Will try that. Haven't seen any hackles like that in our area. Went out to change the cameras this weekend & had a group run right at me & into the light. Got off some shots but couldn't find any. Feel sure I got the first one & heard labored breathing but didn't have all my gear & couldn't find it. I'm sure it will turn up.
