    Thermal scopes

I've scoured the internet and have seen what's available for thermal scopes, now I'm looking for some direction from you local hunts on a brand/model thermal scope to mount on an AR 223. I'm going to bypass the NV units...Drilling down, I'll be still/stalk hunting mostly open pasture, with some river bottom access...I'll spend about $3000 and in return, I'd like a unit that's reliable, easy to navigate, with some (if not all) of the following features:

Some magnification, to reach out 100/150 yds +/-
Good clarity, hot/white and hot black is fine
    Decent battery life
    Quick release mount
    Video/camera capabilities (optional)

Any advise/input for this newbie would be appreciated...

If you want a thermal scope with all those characteristics I'd recommend looking into IR Defense's sights. They're a bit pricier than your budget, but it's worth the investment in my opinion.

Here are some good deals on them: Link

Right now for $3, I would say that the Pulsar Apex XQ50 would be the best scope for your money.

I have hunted with a lot of thermal scopes and it has some nice features for the money and it is a well established model.

Video capability would be via an external recorder.
